The exciting finesse of a complex Merlot is worth striving for. Each year small parcels of specially selected wine is identified for its exceptional varietal expression and quality. Very deep purple colour with red tones lead to intense complex aromas of sweet spices, violets and plums. The palate delivers a richly flavoured and complex, dark cherry, plum and chocolate laden mid palate with chewy tannin and lingering anise & dark chocolate flavours on the finish. This wine shows impressive structure due to the New French oak hogsheads used for maturation, enabling this wine to age & really develop complexity.
Sommelier’s Recommendation Big, bold and rich style of Merlot. This wine is perfectly balanced with its rich mouthfeel, cracking acidity and bold tannins from the French Oak. This is a merlot for people who love bold flavours and aren’t afraid of the tannin. Match with your cut of best red meat straight off the grill.
