Produced with vines from 13 to 33 years old at an altitude between 120 to 250 meters above the sea level on a soil made up of marl and sandstone, obtained following organic principals this wine ferment using natural yeasts of grapes in stainless steel tanks it spends 6 months on his lees to enhance body and complexity. Rich with stone fruit and melon aromas accompanied from delicate white flowers notes.
Sommelier’s Recommendation Pinot Grigio is often underrated and labelled just as a dry white wine without many expectations, this is not the case of Marjan Simcic! This wine is a true example of what an experienced and passionate winemaker can achieve. Rich and elegant in all his aspects the nose profile of this wine shows lime, lemon, stone fruit, acacia and fresh cut grass all perfectly integrated by a beautiful minerality and freshness thanks to the soil rich marl and limestone where the vines are planted.
Today the family owns 18 hectares of vineyards, some older than 55years, cultivated on the Goriška Brda wine district enjoying of a perfect microclimate created by the influences of the nearby sea which supplies warm sea breezes that helps mitigate the temperatures. On the other side the region is sheltered by the Julian Alps which offer protection from the worst climate conditions.
