A blend of the best barrels of the vintage to create a wine that surpasses the individual components. It is not produced in all vintages. Cabernet Sauvignon provides dark forest berries, structure and length. Cabernet Franc contributes a lot of perfumed aromas, red-fruit characters and chocolate and Shiraz adds spice, pepper and vibrancy. With these components the wines show a wonderful completeness, with elegance, complexity and length. Like our Chardonnay this wine also ages incredibly well, maintaining its youth well beyond 10-15 years of age.

Great quality Bordeaux blend from Orange. Still so fresh for 11 years old. A lot of blackberries and cassis with tobacco and chewy tannins. Great length, elegance and complexity. A perfect match to a hearty meat dish to stand up to their big tannin and full body.
Canobolas-Smith Wines is one of the oldest and most significant Orange producers of premium cool-climate wines. The vineyard and winery were established by Murray Smith and his family in 1986. After a lengthy search for a site with the ideal combination of climate, soil and aspect to be able to create great wine, their search led them to the northern slopes of Mt Canobolas near Orange NSW. The vineyard sits at an elevation of 850 metres, on a north-facing site with rich volcanic soil and excellent air drainage. Murray chose to plant varieties which he believed would suit such a unique site and produce distinctive, long-lived wines.
