2019 Massimo Rivetti ‘Froi” Barbera d’ Alba

$42.00

Region: Piedmont, Italy

Viticulture: Organic

Winemaker:

The wine takes the name of the farmhouse because it is made from the grapes harvested from the surrounding vineyards. It is made in the traditional style. Matured in cement and stainless steel, this Barbera is delightfully fresh and fragrant, with red and black cherry scents alongside some light herbs. In the mouth it’s silky with gentle fine-grained tannins underneath flowing strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruits. There are floral hints of lavender and violet on the long, fresh finish, with a twist of herbs too.

Sommeliers Recommendation:

This juicy, savoury Barbera explodes with flavours of black cherry, raspberry and mixed herbs. Italian Barbera from Piedmont is one so popular right now. Fantastic with food or served just a few degrees cooler, this barbera is a moreish easy drinking wine to enjoy with friends.

A 5 generation family winery Massimo Rivetti has 25 hectares cultivated under organic certification with indigenous yeast and no pesticides or chemicals used Annual production is around 100.000 bottles, mainly divided between Barbaresco and Barbera d’Alba.
