Sommelier’s Recommendation Pinot Grigio is often underrated and labelled just as a dry white wine without many expectations, this is not the case of Marjan Simcic! This wine is a true example of  what an experienced and passionate winemaker can achieve. Rich and elegant in all his aspects the nose profile of this wine shows lime, lemon, stone fruit, acacia and fresh cut grass all perfectly integrated by a beautiful minerality and freshness thanks to the soil rich marl and limestone where the vines are planted.

In 1860 Anton Simčič bought a farm in Medana and began vine growing and winemaking. Over the years his sons Nando, Pavel and Teodor inherited the business. In 1988 Marjan started to represent the fifth generation of winemakers tacking over the management of the farm building a new and modern wine cellar creating perfect conditions for producing high quality wines.

Today the family owns 18 hectares of vineyards, some older than 55years, cultivated on the Goriška Brda wine district enjoying of a perfect microclimate created by the influences of the nearby sea which supplies warm sea breezes that helps mitigate the temperatures. On the other side the region is sheltered by the Julian Alps which offer protection from the worst climate conditions.
