NV Balter Brut Sparkling Trento DOC

Region: Trentino Alto Adige, Italy

Viticulture: Conventional

Winemaker: Nicola Balter

Established Date: 1872

Produced with grapes 100 % chardonnay of vines planted on steep slopes south east facing 350 meters above the sea level. The 15% of the first wine of this metodo classico does the first fermentation in barriques and spends 36 months on his yeasts, 4.5 g/l of sugar residue after the second fermentation in bottle. Straw yellow brilliance, a fine and continue perlage and finally a very appealing nose.

Sommelier’s Recommendation Balter Brut is a sparkling wine created following the Champagne method with 100% Chardonnay .  Nicola Balter tries to give an original fingerprint to the wines. The harvest is quite late but crunchy acidity supports the wine providing structure and  a long finish. A fine bubble is long and persistent and dances across the palate.  Drink Balter Brut  for lunch or dinner and not only during the special moments.

An ancient sixteenth century, fortified borough perched on top of the hill that overlooks Rovereto, is where Azienda Agricola Balter currently produces its wines. Here Trento doc and still wines are produced on the 10 hectares that surround the ancient structure, with careful attention paid to quality and land conservation. More than half of the bottles that Azienda Agricola Balter produces are Trento doc, in its classic varieties: Brut, Rosé and Riserva.
